Classroom tour {year 2}

Today was our first day back for the new year! However it was a teacher workday so I was able to get a lot done before my kiddos come tomorrow.

I finally got some new pictures of what my room looks like this year. Here's is what it looked like for most of last year {minus a few minor changes}.

It might not look like any big changes this year but it feels so different to me. Maybe that's because the changes made my room 'work' much more effectively.

welcome to our room!

winter edition {normally little suns hang above the desk areas}

 book boxes + favorite reading and writing spots {little brown stool and round table}

another little favorite nook for my kiddos - the small little table + where writing supplies are kept

my desk area {where I hardly spend anytime during the school day}

 small group table {where the majority of my day is spent & i love it!}

view from my chair

daily 5

and writer's workshop anchor charts

library! {and where writing binders and kept + a make shift slip cover for the little chair}

the most favorite spot in the room -- the couch! thanks to heather for making me a real teacher with a couch!

 word work storage area

carpet meeting area + easel + teaching area

listening center + smart board table + cafe menu and browsing library

 vocabulary words from past week + misc reminders on the door/wall

outside my door

thanks for stopping by!

Can I come be a student in your class? I just want to sit on the couch - and that cool wicker teacher chair! - and read the whole day though. Is that allowed? :)
